The MSc in International Economics and Security is an International – Inter-institutional Postgraduate Studies Program (IPSP) that leads to a single degree from the University of Thessaly and the University of East London. Its purpose is to train executives in a critical area of international studies that deals with the interaction of international economic relations and international security. The ever-evolving economic integration into a single set of international markets with common rules is threatened by international security issues related to international terrorism, local and international armed conflicts, cybersecurity as well as the social and political implications of climate change.

Curriculum areas of coverage of the IPSP
The IPSP incorporates a well-integrated curriculum comprised of subject matters in international economic relations, international studies, defense and security economics, and International Political Economy.
Awarded Degree
The IPSP awards a Master’s degree of Postgraduate Studies (MSc) in International Economics and Security (MSc in International Economics and Security). The institutional titles, emblems and seals of the two Universities will be displayed on each of the awarded degrees, in English.
Categories of candidates in IPSP
Eligible candidates are graduates with degrees from Departments of Economics and Management, as well as, Departments of Political Science and International Studies, as well as, graduates of the productive schools of the armed forces and security forces of the United Kingdom, the European Union, and any other country.
Duration
The IPSP. is an intensive full-time program that lasts 12 months, from October to September of the following year, with the possibility of extension.
Conditions for obtaining the Postgraduate Degree
Obtaining the degree requires the successful examination in eight (8) courses, all compulsory, and the successful completion of a diploma thesis. The IPSP is credited with 75 ECTS or 180 Credits from the UK Higher Education System.
The Department of Economic Studies, in accordance with its Studies Program, provides specialization in related areas reflecting the needs of the national economy, as well as, the current developments in Economic Science.
